DAUGHTERING

In poem, Poetry, Writing on May 6, 2016 at 3:45 pm

salt worn your couldn’t
sink your words you lout
wiry, like you, but
unlike you, her purpose
she’s filled the tuns
taken back the sedge
fed and tied Bull
in high boots on the dock
you can see it now
same gentle recalcitrance
braids cerise in the sun
she slips its moorings
your proud Mar
nudged off and taken by
cold swells of the lake
